I am a certified teacher and currently teach a 7th grade reading and writing class in CT. I am passionate about helping my students understand why reading and writing is so important and getting students excited about learning!
Tutoring can be extremely beneficial for all students. The one-on-one instruction time allows for students to work at their own pace, and feel comfortable asking questions they may otherwise be too shy or scared to ask in a classroom setting. My ultimate goal to help students get where they need to be in order to be successful in and out of the classroom.
Being able to see my students have that "ah-ha" moment never gets old. I also love seeing students engaged in the work and thinking in ways they didn't even think possible.
Mrs. Wendt is a great teacher. Whenever we need help, she helps us the best way we can. We ask her if she can help us the best way she can on our projects and does a good job explaining the lesson. If we don't understand, she will explain to us the best she can. She is a amazing teacher!
I like how MW can deal with all of us and still have a great attitude.
Mrs. Wendt is a great teacher. She always takes the time to make sure I understand the lesson and assignment. I have learned a lot from her this year and will miss her when I move on to 8th grade!
I am currently a 7th grade Language Arts teacher with a BS in English and certified to teach grades 7-12. I am currently enrolled at SCSU and working toward a masters in science degree for the Reading program.
In my experience as a teacher, I have mostly worked with students in 7th and 8th grade (11-14 year olds), however I am certified to teach grades 7-12.
I also have worked with some younger students as graduate student in Reading.
What is it I'm struggling with as a reader or writer?
What strategies have I tried that are working or not working?
