Private Math Tutoring
About
A huge part of my service is patience and flexibility. I like to take the time to really learn where my students are struggling, and help them build their fundamental knowledge. The fundamentals carry through to post high school/college level math, so I make that my utmost priority.
I enjoy seeing the progress my students make, as they start to really understand how to solve problems. Ultimately, it means I have done enough to help them going forward.

I worked with Arpi for both calculus and general chemistry and she was an incredible tutor. She understood where I was having problems with the material, and I felt more confident about everything I was learning my first year of college in just a few sessions. Highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start with the basics always. I want to be able to grasp exactly what the student is struggling with on a fundamental level and build from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Mathematics and Minors in Creative Writing and Chemistry. Having this diversified skill set allows me to adapt my teaching to various fields of study.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am flexible with my pricing. I started this business at the height of COVID and understand the financial circumstances at play. I am open and willing to discuss different pricing options.
How did you get started teaching?
I actually started teaching as an elementary school student. I would assist in correcting test booklets at my local tutoring center and help students draft their essays as well as solve different types of math problems. I continued my passion for teaching throughout high school and undergrad.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with nursing students, K-12 students, undergraduate students needing help in a whole host of disciplines i.e. writing, discrete mathematics, general chemistry, etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My favorite interaction on this platform as been with a nursing student. I helped her achieve basic mastery on dosing calculation based problems. It showed me the extent and versatility of math, not only in my research, but also in teaching.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say it is important to ask the bigger questions and constantly be curious about what you are learning. At the end of the day, I am the student as much as the teacher and if we can learn together, it is a much more gratifying and rewarding experience, then me simply teaching to the book.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I think it is important to have a sense of what you are struggling with. Hence, I would suggest picking apart the problem you are having trouble with and asking what parts of the problem you struggle with the most. It gives a sense of direction in lesson plans and alleviating potential pitfalls/overall weaknesses.
