What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by talking to the student and getting to know about their math career. I want to know what classes they've taken, how they did in those classes, and what they felt were there strengths and weaknesses. I then will proceed to look at assignments from the class they are currently taking and proceed from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken education courses throughout college, as well as student taught in a 2nd grade classes and a 6th grade math and science class. I have the the knowledge that allows me to become a math tutor. My experience's through student teaching and high school tutoring provide me with the training to become your math tutor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing system is $30 a lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
As most other teachers, I started unofficially teaching when I was in high school. I have tutored my friends and peers in math courses, such as pre-calculus, algebra, and chemistry. After realizing this was something that I enjoyed and came natural I decided to persue teaching as my major in college.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a range of students who were looking to catch up on missed work, students who wanted to turn their grades around, and students who just needed some oversight when completing their homework.
