About

I have experience working with students in grades Pre-K - 5 in the regular and special education environments. I have worked with students in small groups, individually, co-taught in the general education classrooms, and had a self-contained math class. I have worked with students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, ADHD, and emotional disabilities. Additionally, I have worked with college aged students on writing and editing research papers.

I earned a Master's Degree and certification in Special Education K-12 in 2013, but have been working with children and students since 2006.

My hands-on teaching style provides students with opportunities to actively learn by using multiple intelligences (visual, auditory, etc.) I will adapt instruction to individual learning styles, developmental levels, and interests while consistently assessing progress to determine further instruction. I strive to provide instruction which supports the use of information in real life situations. My enthusiasm for education and ability to build relationships with students helps to keep them engaged in learning.

I love when a student has an "ah-ha!" moment!
