Mathmissy
About
I enjoy teaching math to students who are reluctant at first. These students usually think they are "bad at math". It is deeply satisfying to help somebody to realize that they can actually be successful in math.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually begin the same way I begin with students in my classroom. I find out what their interests are so I can tailor lessons that keep them engaged. I also like to get a sense of what they think their strengths and weaknesses are.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching for 19 years. I hold licenses in both Connecticut (elementary education and middle school math)and Massachusetts (elementary education and elementary math). I have taught from kindergarteners to adults. During those years, I've also been a math interventionist and math instructional coach. My educational experience includes a Masters in Elementary Education and a Doctorate in Education Leadershio and Management.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are $20 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
It just seemed like a natural step after completing my Bachelors in History. I have always enjoyed sharing information and anything school related.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all age groups including elementary school students and nursing students.
