As a recent high school grad at the top of my class, I have a current and deep understanding of the types of math presently being taught. I excelled in algebra and calculus and I have experience tutoring kids in my own school in Algebra, Geometry, basic math, and Calculus. I am also able to provide up to date and thorough tutoring for the SAT. This fall I'll be attending Duke University, and I have an up to date and complex understanding of the college application process, and how to suceed in it.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initially, I ask the student what specifically he or she is having trouble with or what they'd like to work on. Once I've established the basic areas they're struggling in, I provide a few sample problems in that area to evaluate their areas of strengths and weaknesses so that I can then determine which areas require guidance. During this step I also try and develop a feel for how the student thinks and works through problems. After this, I present a problem, and then work through it step by step, explaining how to look at the problem, and establishing a set of rules or guidelines for how to proceed when such a problem is identified in the future. After we work through a few problems together, I present of set of problems for her or him to work through on their own, and after they're finished, we go back and look through them, and see how they did.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated in the top 5 of my high school class and took 6 math credits in high school: Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. In high school I tutored other students through both National Honor Society and Math Honor Society. On my own I tutored other kdis in my area. Next fall I will be attending Duke University, where I will continue to take high level math courses.

I am flexible and willing to negotiate in terms of pricing. My minimum rate is $15 dollars an hour.
