Linda is a professional math tutor and has been tutoring since 2006. She has helped students in Middle School and High School:
· Improve math scores
· Study for tests and finals
· Prepare for Regents
· Prepare for PSATs
· Improve mathematical comprehension
Linda has a bachelor's degree from Long Island University, has studied for her teaching credential at Point Loma Nazarene University and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Mathematics from Stony Brook University.
Linda's approach to tutoring is a combination of conceptual understanding and rote memorization, where she dials in the approach based on the child's needs and learning style strengths. Students who work with Linda consistently find that they're more at ease when engaging in the topic of mathematics and their confidence and grades go up.
Linda is a full-time High School Teacher and enjoys engaging with students one-on-one to help them achieve a better understanding of math. She enjoys the direct interaction with students, and finds that the immediate feedback between teacher and student allows for maximum learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students bring their current school work and/or prep-books for tests. Linda reviews the student's current approach to assess if they have the pre-requisit skills necessary for the work that she and the student will tutor on together. From this process she sees what the student is not comprehending and focuses in on ensuring that they have the foundation so that they can build on their mathematical comprehension.
