Hi! I am a current student at the University of Northern Colorado and I am looking for tutoring opportunities in this area. I am a dedicated student and tutor with a positive attitude that can help you acheive your goals! I have been tutoring on an as needed basis for four years now in the Broomfield/Thornton area and I am interested in expanding my services to Greeley and the surrounding area. I excel in tutoring math, english, science, and social sciences as well as SAT prep and practice. I am interested and have experience with all ages levels.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With a new student, I try my best to get to know them and understandig their learning stlye in order to fit my tutoring to their needs. In addition, I try and create a positive relationship with all of my students to so they will be excited to come to tutoring as well as excited about the learning material.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am highly gifted and excel in the areas of math, science, english, and social sciences. My rigorous education throughout high school and college has prepared to become a tutor as I can relate to both the material and the student, as I was in this situation as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $40 per hour for private one-on-one tutoring. I am also willing to do small groups (4 and under) for $60 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started tutoring by tutoring my younger sibligngs and neighbors. This expanded as I found a love for helping other and sharing my knowledge as I tutoring throughout the community in Broomfield often tutoring and babysitting at the same time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of students with a variety of interest level. I have worked with students that have trouble focusing and staying positive while also working with students who have trouble fully comprehending that other teachers are saying; having me as a tutor and explaining the concepts in a different way to fully understand the material.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am fond of rock climbing. I enjoy figuring out the various routes and pathways that can be found as well as spending time outdoors.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Advice I would give to a student would be to find a teacher who enjoys the material they are teaching. This can make any learning experience fun and enjoyable. Teachers who are engaging and love the material they teach will reflect on getting their students involved also; a good and invested teacher can make any subject interesting and fun to learn.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think through specific topics that they need help with before going to teachers. While students may need help with a vareity of topics it is also helpful to be as specific as possible in order to cater the tutoring/learning to the students needs.
