What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work mainly in Children's Theatre with age groups 4-16. I adopt a student-first mentality and treat each lesson by meeting them where they are at. Offering creative problem solving and guiding students through their work without telling them how it should be done is what I tend to focus on. I am prepared to tutor elementary through high school in English, Math and Financial Literacy. I can offer individual or group Vocal Lessons, Theatre lessons and Dance as well. My mother, Jennifer Cleary or Mrs. Cleary is a third grade teacher at Stephenson Elementary and has allowed me to use her teaching materials in my own tutoring. while tutoring students in her class, she can share the work the students are doing with me so during the lessons I can follow along.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently in my third year of college with majors in Theatre and Finance. I have studied arts education in college particularly relating to children with special needs. I have taught for 5 years at Oregon Children's Theatre and Northwest Children's Theatre. I started by own theatre camp for children in the foster care system and taught for 3 years. I have tutored for 3 years in math and writing in the third grade. I have experience working with children on the spectrum as well as a range of special needs. Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $25 for half an hour lessons and $40 for an hour tutoring session. However, I am open to negotiations.
