About this tutor

I have become a Zoom teacher and love it.  During this pandemic if you want assistance I can offer lessons for K- 6 on Zoom.  I have been a certified teacher for 33 years, have a masters degree in education, and retired in May 2019.  I know how to reach and help students so they can grow and reach their full potential.  Building self confidence and sharing learning strategies in math and reading is a key to helping students perform better in the classroom.  Check out my facebook page: melinda elkind's tutoring for k-8 students

Kids are our future.  We need to build confidence and make them realize they are important.  I enjoy helping students believe in themselves and become confident learners.

She was amazing with our son. So patient and kind. Guided us as parents as to how to help him grow. My favorite teacher from his childhood.

Our son was behind between his 2nd and 3rd grade years and Melinda brought him right up to speed - she has a great rapport with our son, and I'm sure with her other clients' kids as well!
