Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I provide a first no charge, no obligation tutoring session to get acquainted and see if there is a match between me and the student's needs.
I have students show me problems that they find difficult from their text books, homework and tests. I ask them to show me their approach to solving it and then assist them.
I also teach a test taking system that eliminates panic, running out of time or mind freeze.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduate degree in Mechanical engineering. My undergraduate and graduate level courses in mathematics and physics far exceed those taken by most mathematics and physics instructors. Also, I use the concepts of algebra, trigonometry, calculus, etc. and physics almost daily in my professional work
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Soon after my graduation, I taught part time at my alma mater, San Diego State University
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle School through undergratuate college
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
This Spring, I was retained to tutor a Junior, taking geometry around mid-term. He was flunking at the time. After two weeks tutoring he had his next hourly test, on whcih he got the highest grade he had achieved thus far, 71%. Four weeks later we had our last session prior to the final. His teacher had told him if he got 76% on the final, he would pass the course. I asked his mother to text me when the results were out. A week later, I received the text: he had achieved a 91% on the final and a "C" in the course. It brought me to tears.
