I really enjoy helping people develop a new or better understanding of the material they're working on, and truly my favorite part of the tutoring experience is when I can see the lightbulb go off in the student's head and I know they now get it.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
- Thoroughly discuss the material to determine where sticking points are
- Ask the student about how best they learn so I can frame the problem in that context
- Provide positive support and encouragement while still allowing the student to work through the problem to gain their own understanding
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- Proven excellence in advanced STEM coursework with an emphasis on biology, chemistry and engineering
What types of students have you worked with?
I have the most experience with high school students from freshmen to seniors across subjects including biology, chemistry, poetry, math from algebra 1 to calculus, and earth science. I also have significant experience as a teaching assistant for college-level courses in biology, engineering and global studies/language arts.
