About
My name is Briana and I have a passion for teaching. My degree is a B.A. in Communications and Fine Arts. The discourse and level of education gave me indelible skills that I can use in all subject matters.
I have been tutoring for a few years, which is a job that quickly became a passion.
I love working with students one-on-one because it's an attentive and efficient way to teach. I truly believe that reinforcing information after a student leaves the classroom has resounding benefits in their learning curve. I look forward to enhancing the success of your future!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first session is used to solely gauge where the student is at in terms of their understanding of the subject. From there, I will be able to approach each session with the appropriate speed and care. As the student gets comfortable with me, I ask for their feedback on how my catered teaching methods work for them and adjust as needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Communications and Fine Arts, which was an intense program of English-related courses of writing, reading, annotating, transcribing, and more. This increased my love for English, but also my ability to teach the subject.
I have always loved math and have been good at it. It's easy for me to explain to others, and I am constantly keeping up with new methods that teachers are using today to teach students the concepts, as well as focusing on specific areas in each subject for refreshment.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
K-12 grade is one set hourly rate. SAT/ACT is significantly higher, and this is because these are specialized test preparation sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
I worked a corporate job and did tutoring on the side. The moment I realized that I was more concerned with students and tutoring, I quit the corporate job and went full-time as a tutor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students who have physical disabilities, such as blindness, and have also worked with ADHD students too. My range of students is wide, so I am well equipped for anyone.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who doesn't just have a skill set, but that is relatable to you too. You're not just a student, you're a human who needs to be able to trust a tutor and feel comfortable learning from them. Growing up, my tutor was a confidant for me in addition to helping me in school. This kept me motivated to keep learning, to keep up with my sessions each week, and to get good grades to make my parents and my tutor proud!
