I have been a teacher and tutor in the U.S. and China the past nine years. I have an excellent perspective of how to help many different types of students learn the material for their academic and personal lives. I was a teacher in China from 2011-2018, so I understand the needs, difficulties, and strategies to help English as a Second Language learners succeed learning the English skills that are imperative. I also am an educational coach locally in the Denver area. I have an excellent knowledge of many subjects, and am able to convey them to students that they understand, and more importantly, enjoy. I have a masters degree from Saint Mary's University, and have been an regional dean at a small college campus. I also have much knowledge of several subjects beyond what you will learn in school; therefore, in my sessions I will challenge your knowledge and critical thinking skills. I am also trained how to prepare students for the ACT and SAT exams.

When I meet with new students, I want to know what their goals are, and the important academic issues that they want to improve. As importantly, I want to understand how they best learn (auditory, visual, kinetic), and why they learn best with the answers that they give me. I also want to make sure that we are learning not only the school material, but I like to further my students' knowledge of how to be the best student that she or he is capable. I am a patient teacher who understands how to teach students in several different situations; make them better prepared students (one of the great triumphs I enjoy most about my career); thoroughly enjoy the coaching and mentoring aspects of being a teacher/tutor. Lastly, I will allow you to make your mistakes. It is most important to use our mistakes as learning tools. At the correct time in our lesson, of course, I will correct and show you where you made your mistakes, but most importantly, how to correct them, as well as, why they are correct versus incorrect.
