About

I have a passion for helping students understand and appreciate core mathematical concepts! I recently graduated from CU Boulder with a degree in Applied Mathematics, and worked as an engineer for a few years after. I am comfortable tutoring in math anywhere from elementary school to undergraduate, as well as other subject matter up until high school. I worked as a Teaching Assistant throughout college, as well as a part-time tutor. I am able to pass along the study and organizational skills that I have learned from rigorous AP high school courses and an even more rigorous college degree program. I have experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in math and literacy, as well as plenty of time helping my peers understand difficult math concepts in high school and college. No matter what level of math you are at, I would love to help you reach your academic goals!

Watching a student reach that "aha" moment, where a difficult concept finally clicks, is what makes all of the effort worthwhile. As a tutor, I strive to create as many of those moments as I possibly can.

Frequently asked questions

I firmly believe that no student can perform to their full potential if they don't feel comfortable and at ease in their environment. When I begin working with a new student, my top priority is to make it clear that our time together is completely free of judgement, and that the only expectation is that they make a solid effort. Once this safe space is established, I try to spend some time observing how the student goes about studying and problem-solving so that I can formulate a teaching style specific to their needs.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics with minors in Spanish and Computer Science at CU Boulder, which gives me a robust understanding of math as well as a well-rounded education in other subject matter such as science, history, English, and Spanish. I worked as a TA in calculus classes in college, and have tutored many students in subject matter from algebra to calculus and beyond.
First one-hour session is free! After that, I usually charge a flat rate of $50 an hour. If this doesn't work for you, I'm flexible! Let me know and we can work something out.
My mom teaches English Language Acquisition to elementary and middle schoolers and used to teach 5th grade. My first experiences teaching were volunteering at after-hours tutoring for my mom's students and others attending her school. This was when I realized how exciting it can be to watch that lightbulb go off when a student has made a realization.
I've worked with middle school students in math (algebra) and literacy, high school students in pre-calculus and AP calculus, and college students in calculus, probability, and several other college-level math courses.
