Boulder Based Tutoring
About
I have been a math and science teacher for the past 15 years in both public and independent schools. I have a master’s degree in education and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in physics and a minor in mathematics. I first began tutoring almost 20 years ago and continue to work with students of all ages across the math and science disciplines.
I am just as concerned about how well my students master state and local standards as I am with how well they become critical thinkers and problem solvers.
I help students become better learners!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first meeting with a student can be in person or online. I begin with a general conversation about what they hope to get out of working with me and see if there is a match. I discuss their strengths and areas where they need to grow and offer some ways I can get them there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters degree in education and an undergrad degree in physics with a minor in mathematics. In the summmer I work as a teacher trainer around the country assisting schools and districts with their curriculum and pedagogy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer ongoing relationships as I believe that Tutoring improves for the student as they become better acquainted with their tutor. For single or short term clients my fee is $45/hr. For longer commitments my fees are $40. Every fourth session is $35.
I offer very flexible plans to meet your needs. A session includes up to 60 of in person, or Zoom instruction, along with an additonal 15 minutes of anytime Q&A between sessions. This can be used for emailing me questions, or having me look at work, or preparing something for our next meeting. These sessions can be tailored to fit your needs. An ideal arrangement for many students is to 45 minutes as a traditional tutor session, and then have 30 minutes for anything that comes during the week.
I also set up a Google Classroom for each of my students. There I can add resources or solutions to work, and the student can easily post what is coming up on their end or show me the homework they are working on.
I am also qualified to tutor in Pods of three or more for a family, or a group of students. This can bring the cost down to $35/student per hour. Please inquire about details.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from 6th grade to college. I have tutored in Boulder and Albuquerque, NM. I teach and can tutor all levels of math and most sciences.
