I've spent sixteen years in the education system, and learning has always been a passion of mine. While I explored my studies I also learned the beauty and value of literature and creative writing. Connecting with the writer inside me has been one of the most enlightening experiences I've ever had. I love being the one to show students that value. By showing them what education can do for them, I hope to help them find what it is that makes them truly happy. When a student can find passion for their studies, I know I've done my job

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin by requesting the lesson plan or syllabus of the class or classes with which I will be assisting. I work through the first lesson with the student, mostly observing the ways in which they move through the lesson, and assisting when necessary. At the end, I ask the student where they feel they need the most direction, and how they best learn. I compare their responses to my observations and move forward with an understanding of how to best reach each student where they are in the material.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In this moment of history, many are struggling to find optimism in their daily lives, myself among them. In the wake of Covid-19, people around the globe are struggling. However, demonstrations of togetherness and community have been greatly uplifitng. The daily howl at 8:00pm throughout Colorado, videos of whole buildings singing together while quarantined in Italy, and the many other displays of strength we've seen during this crisis have reaffirmed my commitments to my own communities.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Just as every student's learning needs are different, no two tutors are exactly alike. Finding a tutor that connects with your student is of upmost importance to their success. When looking for a match, ensure that the tutor not only has proficiency in the desired fields, but also that they have a natural chemistry with your child. The ability of the student to trust their instructor and ask honest questions will make all the difference in their studies.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should ask themselves, in what areas of study do I have room for improvement? How do I learn best: visual, auditory, or hands-on? Am I self-motivated, or do I need a little encouragement?
These questions will help your student know what to look for in a tutor so that they may reap the most benefit.
