About

I teach students on a variety of topics using literacy instruction as the backbone. I also teach habits of mind in order for students to become independent learners.

I have worked with students on an individual level for over 10 years from the elementary to the collegiate level. The bulk of that time, I have worked with students on literacy skills/strategies, the GED, test prep, and intro-level college reading/writing. I am a license educator for Secondary Language Arts in the State of Colorado.

I love working with students and seeing them become self-sufficient, excited readers and learners.

Upon tutoring with Adrian, who is an amazing instructor, I drastically noticed an increase with my skills in literacy, from learning more about punctuation to achieving a higher reading level. What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I want to get to know the student as a human and a learner. I ask questions to get to know them and find out what their goals are, and I share mine with them, as well.
