About
I am a Credentialed Multiple Subject K-8 Teacher who has over 20 years experience teaching for Orange Unified School District! I love teaching students and am interested in providing students continued learning opportunities even though the Co-Vid-19 has closed most schools in the United States down temporarily. I love motivating my students to develop a life long love of learning and I get as excited about their successes as they do! I believe that every child can and will succeed if given the opportunity. I search and find each child's unique natural ability to learn and I make learning fun and memorable!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by trying to get the new student to relax and feel comfortable with me. I try to get them to know that I care about them and they can trust me to help them without making them feel bad.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Psychology and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a CLAD emphasis for Second Language Learners. I have been teaching in the classroom for over 20 yers.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I spend a lot of time making sure every student receives the best instruction possible (at his or her level) which requires me to plan out the resources and materials for every session which is time-consuming, but necessary for proper instruction. I charge $39.95 for each 50 min. session that I teach, which includes the planning/prep I do to ensure the most beneficial use of each session. However, I charge $29 an hour if I'm only tutoring. :)
How did you get started teaching?
After I graduated with my degree in Psychology, I went to a Teaching Credential Program through CSUF and then was immediately hired by Orange Unified School District in 2000.
What types of students have you worked with?
I love working with all students, but especially enjoy the primary students. :) Over the years, I've taught students from many different cultures and diverse backgrounds. Every student is unique and it is a pleasure working with each one. :)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the teacher plans your lessons ahead of time. The teacher should care about you being successful and in order to help you, the Teacher needs to know what your needs are Before the first session. If a Teacher isn't willing I spend the time to plan for your success, then I would recommend finding another teacher immediartely.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about how the teacher will help them if he/she struggles in any academic areas. Teachers should be able to approach the same subject in different ways to reach all different types of learners. Students should talk to their parent(s) ahead of time to know whether the student needs tutoring due to not understanding certain concepts, or is looking to advance at an individual pace, because tutoring is guided by what the student would like to focus on.
