About

I aim to help students find learning interesting and stress free. I understand how difficult certain topics and subjects can be and I work to simplify the process and make the material relatable. I know that each student is not the same as the last or the next, therefore I work to find what teaching style works best with each student to capitalize on their individual learning style.

I truly enjoy helping students improve their understanding of the given topic or subject. My goal is to always help students see the bigger picture and find their own connections or passions through their moments of difficulty. I enjoy answering questions and making the "scary" topics not so scary through a slow and individualized process of teaching.

Frequently asked questions

When working with a new student I like to assess their abilities to develop an individualized lesson plan. In my experience I have found that many students have some inkling as to how to solve a specific problem or what the overall goal is, they just have difficulties getting started or lack the confidence to follow their intuition all the way through. Therefore, when I work with a new student I like to gauge how much they already know and help them build their skills and confidence to feel comfortable enough to eventually work independently.

I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in American Studies and I am currently working towards a Masters in Humanities at Cal State Dominguez Hills. In addition, I have 10+ years of experience working with students of all ages, subjects, and needs as I managed a local tutoring facility. I also helped develop several writing and reading programs to enhance students analytical and writing abilities. In regards to math, I have worked with students in elementary, middle and high school (up to Algebra 2). In addition, I also helped develop an SAT Math Pereparation course to help students understand the topics on the SAT rather than memorize techniques.

I developed my passion for teaching at a young age. I discovered my love for helping others when I volunteered at a local elementary school in a transitional kindergarten class one summer. I consistently helped my classmates through high school and upon graduation I earned a job at a local tutoring facility. I eventually became a branch manager and assisted in the development of several programs geard towards helping our in-house students as well as students in low income communities.

I have worked with a wide rand of students ranging from pre-school to college. In addition, I've tutored a variety of subjects including math (up to Algebra 2), reading, writing, SAT Math Prep, AP histories, etc. I also have experience working with students who have leraning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, and autism.
