What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With new students I would ask for samples of previous work in the subject area of concern, then I would ask to review the syllabus and previous assignment prompts as well as teacher feedback on previous assignments. I would also arrange a video conference to allow the student to share their concerns and goals for the class and for our work together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and a Master Degree in Education. I also have ample experience and training working with Special Needs and English Language learning students. I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to graduate level.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing depends on depth of need and frequency of sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a tutor in high school and continued through my undergraduate degree. During my graduate work I began teaching in the classroom.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with mainstream classrooms as well as special needs, ELL, and Neuro-atypical students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend the student be prepared to honestly evaluate their current learning process to help determine what strategies would work best for that student.
