About
I was terrible at math in high-school and college, and although I eventually got a job software engineer, I was always disappointed with my math knowledge. I finally went back to school and studied math at the college level. I discoverd the things I needed to do to succeed, and ended up getting a 3.9 GPA and got on the deans list taking all the lower division math courses. If approached in the right way, math is not only easy to learn, but also very enjoyable. Yes, math can be fun! Now I want to help math students with what I have learned. I'm not in this so much for the money as to have fun teaching, and I'm ready to help you.
I also have a bachelor's degree and master's degree in music, and have taught on the college level, so teaching is not new to me. If you are stuck, please contact me!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1. Exchange short email to get an appreciation for the students goals and challenges.
2. In person or web based meeting to evaluate student's current level, particular needs, as well as urgent and long-term goals.
3. Present a plan to achieve those goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of science degree and a Masters degree in music. I worked as a software enginer and manager for 25 years. I then went back to school and completed two years of study in college mathematics, achieveing a 4.1 GPA and and the deans list during at least one quarter.
I taught myself pre-calculus, and then earned straight A's in Calc I, II, and II, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Discreet Math. I also earned an A in Physics for Engineers and Scientists. For 14 years I developed software that operated Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instruments, and in the last 8 years managed teams that produced these products.
As a manager, I mentored these enginers and I have a talent and a love of teaching and mentoring.
I have directly experienced what if feels like to fail in math and science subjects. I went back to school because I was not satisfied with failure, and I learned about what it takes to succed in these subject. My goal is not only to pass on the knowledge of the subjects, but my knowledge of what it takes to become competent and confident in Math and other technical subjects.
