I'm a highly skilled teacher/tutor with a track record of success! I provide individualized instruction for your child and create a positive environment for learning.
My goal is support your child with academic confidence while helping build skills. I'm experienced with all learners including ADD, ADHD, unmotivated learners, those who need to catch up and those who want to get ahead.
Those who know me best describe my personality as dynamic, skilled and nurturing. I’ve been a credentialed educator in private and public schools throughout my career. I hold a B.A. in Liberal Arts, and a M.A. in Education. I enjoy engaging students with creativity and flexibility to support the curriculum your child is following. I’m comfortable and knowledgeable working with IEP's and students with special needs. My theory of education is that a holistic and hands on approach supports all learners best!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When meeting a new student, it's important for them to become comfortable with me through conversation. I learn their interests, skill level, and what motivates them. I typically do diagnostic work in the first session to determine my future lessons.

How did you get started teaching?
I started my career as a teacher's aide in a special education classroom. My first job was as a fourth grade teacher. I earned my Ca teaching credential and M.A. in Education and went on to teach English in 11th and 8th grades. I've been tutoring both 6th -12th grades in English and K-5th students in reading and writing.
