About
Hey! My name is Alex Phillips and I am currently a college student with various class under my belt. I am fully aware of the modern teaching styles professors use today and how today's classroom works. Not only will you be getting most student-oriented tutoring out there, but I specifically change my teaching style to fit your learning process. Everyone learns differently and it is important to distinguish each students process so we can learn in the most efficient way!
My favorite thing about teaching in the look on a student's face when they finally understand the material. The moment that everything just "clicks" for a student is so satisfying that it makes all the work worth it for them. I pride myself on seeing a student grow to their max potential and it drives me to see them want to succeed!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student the first thing I try and do is figure out their learning style. This can mean diagrams, text, or multiple examples until they can do it on their own. I have met students that just needed me to explain one item and everything "clicked," while other students need me to explain the very basics. Every student learns differently so once you see the easiest route to their understanding, everything moves smoothly!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked with various children with tutoring and sports! I grew up helping my younger siblings with their homework and this later moved on to friends and classmates. I always was the first to understand the material in class so I would always end up helping my peers. I have also coached various sports and this has helped me understand the work ethic and critical thinking of many different students!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Usually, my pricing system is around 30$ an hour but this varies from location to level of material.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should definitely think about what they are specifically confused on, but don't worry! If they don't know, then we will sit down and figure it out.
