About
I am a teacher/tutor with over 15 years of experience in tutoring, as well as 5 years of experience teaching. I love the study of mathematics, and strive for my students to love it too! I have a teaching credential for mathematics (full mathematics, through Calculus) in the state of California.
I love the moment when students catch on to the topics they are studying - the moment when the light bulb turns on! That moment brings so much joy to both the student and the teacher/tutor!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will do a quick assessment of the student's current skills, which could be through a couple questions for a student to solve, having the student walk me through the process so I can determine how the student is thinking through the problems.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a tutor since 2004, and have a teaching credential in the state of California covering all school mathematics levels.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Usually I charge $40.00 per hour. There may be discounts available for multiple students or a personal recommendation.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a tutor in 2004, free lance, and later through a tutoring company. While I was working on my bachelors degree in accounting, I was tutoring my classmates and other students studying math at the time. I completed my bachelors degree and moved immediately into my masters degree in education, secondary math. Since I completed my masters degree, I have been a substitute teacher, a middle school math teacher, and a high school math teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide range of students. I have worked with students that needed additional support, students with disabilities, as well as students accelerating their learning to complete more studies in less time. I have also worked with students new to the United States with language barriers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
At the high school I was just at, students approached me to start a Disney club. We did several different activities in our club meetings, from movies, to trivia, to coloring, to karaoke! We even went to a movie theater at the end of the school year to watch a movie that released that day!
