Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first gauge with student and/or parent current needs and performance on last exam to establish baseline. From there, I request with student their current needs in detail and establish a schedule where I can provide consistent help and gauge progress along the way. Open to answering questions or concerns along the way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS degree in Molecular Environmental Biology from UC Berkeley. Completed a Master in Public Policy which is very "numbers heavy." Trained in clinical research and analytics, I'm very comfortable working with numbers. My teaching experience varies from TA in university setting to working with students with special needs in K-12 setting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am open to pricing based on needs, current schedule, specific deliverables (attainment of learning goals), location, and time of day. To prep for an exam or project, I charge a flat rate of $50 for 2.5 to 3 hour session. Open to negotiate pricing with students based on subject area- mostly Math and Science
