Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students may choose to have their sessions focus on a particular course. If there is a known weakness in the area of math we can arrange for an assessment test (that is generally accepted and approved by the State) to ascertain what areas are in need of remediation. A program is developed to reteach the topics and a final assessment will measure progress.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A former student, who was challenged with LD, ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia, who was told by his counselor he was not collegebound, contacted me to say "You changed my life! Because of my experience in your school, I believed I could do it. I now have a Ph.D. in Bio/Physics from USC". He now has so many accomplishments they featured him in their Alumni magazine.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find the organization with the right credentials, experience, and staff. Ask lots of questions and visit the center. In-home tutors are convenient but that is not the best learning environment. A center can provide choices in tutors, flexibility for appointments, curriculum, and resources that would not be available in a home environment.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
We communicate with your child's teacher to ask the questions. With parents participation, we take you out of the middle and go to the person who can assist us in the best way to help your child.
