About

Being a tutor, for me, has always provided a satisfaction that just getting a good grade cannot give. Providing someone the tools to learn a subject and do it well is something I'll always enjoy. I like learning to be discplined but engaging, making students think outside of the box to understand complex concepts strategies for improving their math skills. I've never tutored as work, however, I am very confident in my subject field and will create a fun environment. I believe being personable and 1-on-1 will allow the student to personalize their experience and create a strategy to learn math at pace that will have the most success.

Frequently asked questions

First, is finding an area of struggle. Hopefully we can pin it down early and a lot of the time it is related to a fundemantal skill that was missed or malpracticed. Next is the concept of said fundemental skill, knowing what the book in question is asking you word for word in mathematical language is just as important as the application of the skill. The only thing left after that is practice and becoming familiar with different functions as they pretain to the information at hand.

I have experienced being tutored as well as tutoring others. Math is a common area of struggle and there are lots of people who require help in all areas of the subject. I have explained and helped countless people improve their basic math skills as well their understanding of the question at hand.

Yes, I charge $25 an hour to tutor, no need to discuss price.

After asking others about their struggles in math and seeing explainations in a 1-on-1 setting improve their grades and their love for the subject.

From grades 6 all the way into the college level up into Calculus 1.

My long time girlfriend of 4 years just celebrated our anniversary together! We went to Santa Barbara and had a great time at the zoo, on state street, and having a wonderful seaside dinner.

Look for those who will be going in depth with you on every subject, most people require more than just going over problems, at least in the beginning. You want to find a tutor that will give as much importance to the concept as the problems themselves.

Give some time to really nail down the problem you are having, this allows for less time in figuring out what you need and more time working on the areas you already know you're struggling with. By nail down, really get into the specifics of the student's struggles, maybe even down to specific functions to allow time for a full teaching experience.
