Brendan's English And Literature Tutoring
About
I have experience in helping students with English related activities. I have several hours of field experience in a high school setting and I'm currently going for my undergraduate degree in literature at CSUSM. Literature is my passion and I try to make it my students' passion too.
I take gratification from seeing my students finally "get it". Seeing the light bulb go off, especially in a subject that many stuggle with such as English, is extememly satisfying. It's the experience of seeing someone get as excited as you do about something when they first learn about it that really keeps me going as a teacher.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I'll typical start by gauging what they know and don't know based on what assignments they've been struggling with or what they identify they need help with the most.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated highschool and passed my AP Literature class with an A. Additionally I have several hours of field experience in high school settings alongside experience in proofreading papers and AP grading.
How did you get started teaching?
I was inspired by my AP Literature teacher and his passion for novels. I love to analyze and write essays about the themes and intricacies of books and I love helping others find those meanings as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked mostly with high school level students and I typically specialize with those who have a reading level between 8th and 12th grade. However, I'm confident in working with younger students as well.
