About
I am a very personable math teacher who excels in explaining complicated math concepts in an easy to understand manner. I have a very clear and easy approach where the strengths of a student are repeated and the weaknesses are strengthened so that they are not weaknesses any more.
I went into teaching because as a father I found genuine joy in watching my children learn difficult concepts as I would help them with their homework. I really enjoy the challenge of taking a subject that most people consider 'hard' and explaining it in a way that helps them understand it. Watching a person's confidence grow as a result of my instruction is something I truly love to do.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I make sure I understand a little about them personally, enough to help me get a grasp of their learning process. The I take the time to understand their goals, their study habits and what they feel as though they need help with and why. The 'why' is the most important part of that questions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my undergraduate degree in Business and I have an MBA and a Masters in Secondary Education. I have passed my CSET's for both History and Math and I am currently a math teacher at the Oakland School for the Arts, in Oakland CA.
