Snider Editorial Tutoring
About
I am a Communications and Media Studies major at Sonoma State University with a passion for creative writing and journalism. I have worked as an Arts and Entertainment editor for the Sonoma State Star newspaper, which has given me a keen eye for editing and writing with a purpose. I get genuinely excited to read student's work and help to improve and expand upon their ideas, and I would love to be able to help students develop the same passion and excitement for writing that I have.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically start by asking the student what they want to accomplish with their writing. If they are writing a creative piece, I want to know what emotions they want to evoke and what messages they want to convey. For journalism pieces, I start with explaining the difference types of leads, Associated Press writing style, and examples of news pieces before we look at how to approach writing in such a specific manner.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In high school I took AP Language Composition and AP English Literature. As a college student, I have written for the Sonoma State Star newspaper and worked as the Arts and Entertainment editor. I have recieved advice and expertise from writers and editors at the Press Democrat. I am also an intern for a local Public Relations firm, and have edited essays, manuscripts, plays, and screenplays in my free time.
