About this tutor

I'm extremely personable and as someone who was a collegiate athlete and a published scientist I can usually find many points of connection with my students. It helps many of them stay engaged and in many cases I can find more ways to make the material more relevant to the student which helps with retention.

Definitely seeing the progress and enthusiasm over time

I was hesitant to use an online tutor, but my daughter’s school and work schedule made it extra stressful to drive to a tutor locally. You cannot beat the convenience and the results! My daughter went from a C in her algebra 2 class and up to an A-! Will tutored Jordan 10 hours on math over a 10 week period. His help combined with her diligence brought the results needed. Will did an amazing job adapting to her learning style and created questions that addressed her weaknesses. Aside from that he always offered help across other topics to make sure he addressed any issues she had.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first step is always learning the students communication and learning style. From there its important to then under the students overall goal of meeting for each session. Are we preparing for a test? Are you looking to raise your C to a A? Is there an overall skill we want to develop? Are we preparing for the SAT? Is the goal simply to get ahead?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I graduated from Occidental as a Pre-Med with a B.A. in Kinesiology and will be attending Stanford in the fall.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing starts at $30/hr

How did you get started teaching?

I started tutoring back in 2010 when some of the kids on my street started to struggle with Geometry and i've tutored since then.

What types of students have you worked with?

A wide variety of students. I've dealt with students learning disabilities, ADHD, ADD, little to no motivation and many other types of students
