About this tutor

I am Sindu, founder of Sindu's Math Tutoring. I have a Master's degree in Math and your kid gets to learn from someone who have spent 5 years studying Math in college and seven years teaching it. I struggled with Math as a kid and that helps me to understand my students better now.

Also, I think my services are pretty affordable.

I love teaching. I started when I was in Highschool and really love every impact I make in their learning curve.

I like to watch them grow confident in Math. The happiness that it brings in them. And of course, I get to work from home, being my own boss all that included.

My child had a really great experience working with Sindu. Sindu is extremely knowledgeable and she really takes the time to explain the problems in as many ways possible. My child is no longer afraid of doing maths! We definitely plan to continue working with the during the school year.

Sindu has been an excellent tutor for our son, who is studying math at the university level online. She is capable, clear and readily available to help. She guides him to solve the problems and understand the material himself, which has prepared him well for his exams. She is also very flexible and able to meet our time requirements. We strongly recommend her services.

We started homeschooling Madison this January. Everything was going great until geometry decided to become to overwhelming for me. I am Madison’s teacher and it’s my job to teach and help her with all of her subjects. After much discussion, I posted in several Facebook groups including Market Place, searching for a math tutor for myself and Madison. We ended up going a completely different route than most people do. Sindu found us!!! We absolutely love working with Sindu and she has helped me tremendously. I highly recommend her if you or your child/children are in need of a math tutor. Miss Madison not only has straight A’s since we started homeschooling, now we can proudly say she has an A in math. Thank you Sindu for all your support, your teaching skills and patience with Madison Melton and myself!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I do an initial assessment and a demo lesson to see if we are the best fit for each other. I don't charge for this.

Lessons are conducted through Zoom, video calling app, free of cost, If you can make video calls, then don't hesitate to give it a try. It is very comfortable.

I usually have the "I do, we do, you do" tutoring style. If this works for you, well and good. Or, I have several other methods that would work.

The parent is responsible for reporting the tests, Feedbacks, and Homeworks.

I assign 5 problems every day after the session (However,  for Honors and AP Students, I usually let them decide as most of them are overworked)

If you have any issues, let me know. I appreciate being open minded.

I accept post payments, however, if you wish to pay before the session, I appreciate that too.

Don't reschedule the lessons often.  I have other classes and it would probably mess my whole schedule. In case of emergencies, It's fine.

I report to the parent every week through email about the progress.

I have been tutoring for a long time now and have had a quite successful tutoring career however I can't always guarantee the result you expect.

Have reasonable expectations.

Success = Your effort and Time + My skills and Effort. 50:50. Please understand.

You are free to approach me anytime.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I tutor Math, I have a Masters degree in it.

I don't have an education degree but I have been tutoring since high school and almost all of my clients so far loved my services.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Yes, Please do Enquire to know more.

How did you get started teaching?

Well, I started teaching in Highschool.

Helped my friends to learn Math, gradually started working with lower level kids in the neighborhood.

Paid for college with tutoring.

Professionally after College.

What types of students have you worked with?

I Love this question. I have worked with students from many parts of the world, four continents so far.

I have worked with Adults, University students, Middle Schoolers, High-Schoolers, Professionals and Homeschooling Parents.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Don't look for a tutor for an exam that is just a week away with no clue of the syllabus.

I won't do your assignments.

Have realistic expectations.

Our efforts are 50:50, Understand that. Be openminded, honest and consistent.

I will not help you to take your exam online. ( If I get an enquiry like that, I am going to find you and report you.)
