About this tutor

I am Sindu, founder of Sindu's Math Tutoring. I have a Master's degree in Math and your kid gets to learn from someone who have spent 5 years studying Math in college and seven years teaching it. I struggled with Math as a kid and that helps me to understand my students better now.

Also, I think my services are pretty affordable.

I love teaching. I started when I was in Highschool and really love every impact I make in their learning curve.

I like to watch them grow confident in Math. The happiness that it brings in them. And of course, I get to work from home, being my own boss all that included.

Sindu has been great. My son was struggling with 7th grade advanced math. Right after my son finished the very first lesson with Sindu, his face lit up and said “I finally understood the math!” He looked so happy, relieved and excited. You could imagine how happy I was to hear that and chose her as a tutor! Sindu is very professional, flexible with schedule and overall we are very satisfied with her service. I’d recommend her, 100% :)

Professional and approachable Sindu is a gem. Our daughter struggled with a number of concepts and Sindu helped her to understand and apply said concepts. We will definitely reach out to Sindu again, should the need arise. Thank you Sindu!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I do an initial assessment and a demo lesson to see if we are the best fit for each other. I don't charge for this.

Lessons are conducted through Zoom, video calling app, free of cost, If you can make video calls, then don't hesitate to give it a try. It is very comfortable.

I usually have the "I do, we do, you do" tutoring style. If this works for you, well and good. Or, I have several other methods that would work.

The parent is responsible for reporting the tests, Feedbacks, and Homeworks.

I assign 5 problems every day after the session (However,  for Honors and AP Students, I usually let them decide as most of them are overworked)

If you have any issues, let me know. I appreciate being open minded.

I accept post payments, however, if you wish to pay before the session, I appreciate that too.

Don't reschedule the lessons often.  I have other classes and it would probably mess my whole schedule. In case of emergencies, It's fine.

I report to the parent every week through email about the progress.

I have been tutoring for a long time now and have had a quite successful tutoring career however I can't always guarantee the result you expect.

Have reasonable expectations.

How did you get started teaching?

Helped my friends to learn Math, gradually started working with lower level kids in the neighborhood.

Paid for college with tutoring.

Professionally after College.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with Adults, University students, Middle Schoolers, High-Schoolers, Professionals and Homeschooling Parents.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Don't look for a tutor for an exam that is just a week away with no clue of the syllabus.

I won't do your assignments.

Have realistic expectations.

Our efforts are 50:50, Understand that. Be openminded, honest and consistent.

I will not help you to take your exam online. ( If I get an enquiry like that, I am going to find you and report you.)
