About

My name is Eduardo Mucino. I am an experienced Aerospace Engineer with a passion for robotics and all things space related.

I am a bilingual US Citizen, fluent in English and Spanish. I attended the University of Michigan, where I earned a Master's in space systems engineering and a Bachelor's in aerospace engineering.

After graduation, for about a year, I worked evenings as an at-home tutor. I primarily tutored high school students in STEM subjects, but I also did standardized test prep, tutored Spanish, and worked with younger students. My most memorable success story from this part of my career was helping one of my students reach his personal goals. This student was very passionate about music and was looking forward to attending band camp in the summer, but he was very close to failing math, which would have meant summer school and no band camp. After a couple of months of making very slow progress, my student surprised everyone by doing extremely well on his finals and bringing his class grade up from a D to a B in the process.

I have since been working in the aerospace industry for over 8 years where I’ve acquired expertise in the areas of spacecraft dynamics analysis, control systems design, and flight operations. Most recently, I co-founded Gravity Laboratories, with the ultimate mission of empowering individuals.

I love the problem solving aspect of engineering. Coming up with an elegant solution to a difficult problem is very rewarding. But above all, I enjoy knowing that my work has a positive impact on people's lives. That's why I tutor, to help students learn how to solve their own problems and in turn make a positive impact in their lives.

    Frequently asked questions

The first step would be to understand the students goals and objectives with respect to what he would like to get out of our time together. Next, I would ask the student to assess his/her own strengths and weaknesses to ensure that we can focus on the right things. And finally, I would jump right into solving some problems (whether it be homework or examples from a book) to get a sense of how the student thinks and works, as well as to validate the students self-assessment.

I earned a Masters degree in space systems engineering in 2010. After graduation, I took a full-time job in Texas as a systems analyst and tutored students in the evenings. I did this for about 1 year. On average, I would tutor 2-3 students each week night for 1 hour each. I then went to study abroad for a year then came back to California to work in aerospace and have ben here ever since.

I offer a free phone or online consultation to discuss the student's needs/goals and set up a trial session. The trial session is intended for parents and students to make sure that I am the right fit. If at the end of the trial session you don't think I'm the right fit, you don't pay.

For STEM subjects, my standard rate is $45/hour for highschool and $55/hour for AP and college level.

I can also travel to my students for an additional fee of $10 per 15 minutes of travel time.
