Miss Hazelton has always had a love for math, and for sharing her passion with her students. As a child, she would line up her stuffed animals to teach them the math she learned in school.
After finishing college, she began a career in accounting then transitioned to recruiting for accounting and finance. Even though Miss Hazelton experienced tremendous success in the corporate world, her yearning to become a teacher never went away. In 2008, Miss Hazelton fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a teacher. She spent four years teaching elementary students, and the past eight years teaching Middle School Math. Miss Hazelton has had the privilege of teaching students from around the globe, with diverse levels of socio-economic backgrounds.
Miss Hazelton has her Master’s in Education – Math 5-8, and is certified to teach math in Texas and California. In addition to her teaching experience, she has over 4,000 hours of tutoring experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I begin by getting to know the student's mathematical goals, strengths, weaknesses, and what type of learner the student is. The more I learn about the student, the better equipped I will be at helping them reach their goals.
