I love working with students from all ages and backgrounds. Over the many years I have worked a tutor, I have forged close connections with students as I help them overcome obstacles and participate in their transformation to becoming confident scholars. I find great satisfaction in helping students foster their own passion for learning, gain confidence in themselves, their intellect, and their capabilities. I appreciate that tutorting utilizes my strongest skillsets - patience, creativity, passion, intelligence, communication, compassion, and a drive to help others.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, I schedule a brief introductory phone call/video chat with the student and/or parent to gather information about the student's learning styles, academic struggles and strengths, and assess where I can be most supportive. I work with the student to understand their individual learning process. With this information, I develop strategies and methods to motivate the student to engage in the learning process. I act as a guide and support as students navigate their academic journey.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies and Africana studies from Vassar College. I also studied International Relations at Columbia University in New York City, Abnormal Psychology at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England, and Art History at Emory University. Throughout my highschool and college years, I worked as a tutor for students of all ages.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring in highschool, working with younger students in my school and in other unaffiliated academic programs. I continued teaching as a freshman in college, working with younger students in academic subjects in which I had been very successful. I have tutorted children from all backgrounds and education levels, starting from the age of 5 through 23.
