Since I am majoring in English at the University of San Diego, I know how to write and communicate in a way that is relevant to modern students. I have been a peer writing tutor for four years, helping to edit essays, brainstorm ideas, or generally support students through the writing process.
There is something very cathartic about writing effectively. I love to help other students discover what they want to say and how they want to say it. Anyone can be an amazing writer if they have the tools to successfully express their thoughts.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My proccess for working with a new student varies based on their needs. For example, if a student needs help with writing college admissions essays, it's necessary to learn about them before writing. However, if a student needs help writing a research essay, I might begin by reviewing the rubric for that assignment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took multiple IB and AP classes in high school (only one year ago) so I understand the expectations of advanced writing. Additionally, I am a babysitter so I know how to help children and explain concepts in simple terms.
