Algebra Tutoring

Hi! My name is Tavishi, and I’m a senior at Dougherty Valley High School. I have completed AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C Mechanics, and I’ve been accepted into multiple top schools to pursue an Aerospace Engineering Degree.

I want to help students not only solve problems with efficiency and accuracy, but also fully grasp what they’re learning! I can help them understand the core of concepts, making problems automatically become easier. I can also teach the quick and fast methods of problem-solving that helped me level up from Algebra I to Calculus BC in just 2 years!

I was also nominated to be a part of Academic Leadership (a teacher-nominator-only class where students assist other students in studies), and have experience as an Algebra I Teacher’s Assistant. I am friendly, genial, and patient, and willing to work WITH students. Different students learn differently, and I want to teach them Math in the way that will help THEM learn so that they can succeed in class. I can assure that each student I work with will leave with a firm grasp of concepts and knowing how to solve problems quickly.

I’ve always had an aptitude for Math, but I used to struggle with school Math since my way of learning was often not the same as my teachers’. So, I spent most of my Math career self-learning. The issue is that most of the time, schools don’t teach Math. They teach how to solve Math problems, and in a very specific way.

Thankfully, my love for Math helped me form ways to not just learn better and faster, but also to understand the way my teachers wanted me to solve problems, helping me succeed in class. Because Math is just Math. And if core concepts are clear, problems are easy, no matter what method you need to use. After years of self-learning Math, I know the struggles of different topics. So I want to help struggling students, or students who just want quicker ways of doing problems.
