Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I usually start by gauging his/her current level of understanding in the subject by asking a few questions and getting to know him/her better. I'm a strong believer in different learning styles, so finding out how the student learns best is huge priority for me. When it comes to subjects like math or test prep, I make sure to give the student practice problems and go over mistakes after completion in order to establish a more interactive learning environment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been tutoring students for around 4 years in a classroom setting as well as through school organizations (California Scholarship Federation).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing system varies depending on the complexity of the curriculum and the subject. However, I generally average around $20/hour.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students in different levels of mathematics, English, science, foreign languages, etc.
