I am in seventh grade. Devin was very helpful and taught me very well in Math. When I didn't understand something, she rephrased it in a way I could comprehend better.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I first try to get an understanding of where the student is. I review past homework assignments and tests to see what the student needs help with. I additionally ask the student what concept they believe that they need some extra help in.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a high school student and have taken the following courses:

- Prealgebra

- Algebra 1

- Algebra 2 and Trigonometry Honors

- Geometry

- Physics

- French 1

- French 2

- French 3

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Free: I'm a high school student and really want to help younger students with their work. I do not want to charge for my service.

How did you get started teaching?

When I was in 5th grade, I helped children in Kindergarten learn to read. Since then, I have been tutoring younger students at my school. I also help my siblings with their homework.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students grades K-8 in French, math, and English.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently participated in National History Day. National History Day is a competition where you create a project for a given theme. The theme this year was Breaking Barriers, and my group passed the competition in my county and is heading to the state competition.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Sometimes concepts may be difficult to grasp at first, but with perseverance and dedication, you will get there! Also, it is not a bad thing to need a tutor. Tutors are supposed to help you excel and get better, and you should not be embarrassed to have a tutor.
