Math Tutoring
About
Growing up I always struggled with math, but once I had a great teacher who really enjoyed math and who was really able to help me understand it, I was able to fall in love with the subject. I want to help younger students who are also struggling with math really grasp the concepts that they are learning. I am currently a second year at Cal Poly, I originally applied as a math major in hopes of teaching math but decided to switch majors to econ so that I could study accounting. I recently received an A in both precalculus and Calculus 1 there. I was a middle school math tutor in my junior and senior year of highschool which gave me a good understanding of the job and what it required of me.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Previously I will go over a student's homework and past tests with them the figure out what topics they are struggling with. I will also try to figure out why they are struggling with that topic (ex. are they confused about the way it was explained). Then I will work with them step by step on the problem so that they can understand what they were doing wrong previously.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My Junior and Senior year of highschool, I worked with middle school students as a math tutor. I have done well in many math courses including algebra, geometry, precalculus, and calculus.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge 20$ per hour, however, I would be willing to negotiate prices.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly middle students(grades 6-8)
