About

I have 7 years of experience working with all ages of students and all learning styles. When I work with a student, I always try to explain new topics in a way that caters to their learning style.

Because I'm majoring in Civil Engineering, I'm often exposed to new ways math is applied in real-world situations. Sometimes I work with students who don't care about math because "I'm never going to use this in real life," but I'm able to quickly change that mindset by giving examples that they could see on a day-to-day basis.

Learning new topics is important but being passionate and excited about them is what I think creates success.

Throughout my years of tutoring, I've been able to change so many people's views on math. I always love when my students ask for 10 more minutes at the end of the sessions because they don't want to stop learning!

Bailey is fantastic! My son has worked with her since 3rd grade, and she has helped him excel and love math. She is patient and creative in her teaching. When my son wasnt understanding long division the way the school was teaching it, she found another way to reach him and he Aced his tests. She was also able to do this with word problems as math got more complicated in 5th grade. Bailey is also great with kids with all types of disabilities. She also helps kids understand the practical reasons they are learning something even if they dislike it. Moreover, if your child is good at math but needs one-on-one motivation, Bailey provides that by challenging kids to think about real-world math problems. She is warm, kind, and cheerful and loves working with kids and teaching. Any student would be lucky to have her as their tutor!

I liked the different methods and how many different methods she used to explain something when I couldn’t understand. Bailey is very nice.

Frequently asked questions

I like to set up a short zoom call to discuss any goals, questions or concerns the student may have. Then I give them a test to assess their problem solving skills so I can better understand their learning style.

I'm a 4th year Structural Engineering major and have taken math classes up to Linear Algebra 2. I've worked as math tutor for 8 consecutive years and have experience in teaching math up to linear algebra 1. My major has provided me with so many real-world applications to math, and my job has allowed me to clearly communicate topics to students!

I charge $50/hour for online sessions.

For each of my students, I create custom lesson plans, assessments, and I make my own worksheets to fit their learning styles. I have a lot of students who are more visual learners so before the session I will find interesting videos or visual examples I can find to support what I teach.

There's a lot of work on my part that I do to prepare for each session because I genuinely do care about my student's success and understanding in their classes.

I've always loved math and my friends would always come to me if they needed help with their homework. I enjoyed helping other people so much that I started tutoring!

I've worked with all ages and learning styles. I had a student who was 3 years old and I was teaching her how to count and write numbers. I've worked with many students who have learning disabilities and I have done extensive research in order to best support every learning style. I've also tutored students in college for multivariable calculus and linear algebra 1.

Something that makes me really enjoy tutoring is the effect it has on people's mindsets towards math. I had a student that showed up for our first session absolutely hating everything about math but at the end of that hour she said, "That was already an hour? Can we keep working for a couple more minutes?" She was a year behind in school when I first met her and after one year of her and I working together, she was a year ahead!

It's super important that your tutor is able to communicate the information clearly but also is passionate and excited about the topic! Students should always look forward to sessions and end sessions with a smile!
