About

Forming a relationship with students is my specialty. I love kids and they love me. It helps motivate them and help them understand their subjects better and faster. I'm a Yale graduate who can teach a myriad of subjects: math, Spanish, SAT/ACT prep, language arts/English, biology, chemistry. I've been teaching and tutoring for ten years.

Lisa was always kind and patient with the people she was working with, she made me feel like its okay to not understand something immediately and was always nice to be around.

    Frequently asked questions

It's very flexible. Students don't fit into an algorithm. I like to meet my new student, get to know them, ask questions, listen, and find out what their goals and former experiences have been so we can work towards achieving success. There's no set formula.

I graduated from Yale when I was 20 years old with a biology major and psychology minor. I matriculated at Stanford Med. School and attended for 3 years before making the tough decision to transfer to SJSU and become a teacher. I graduated with my teaching credential. I've been teaching, tutoring and counseling college candidates for over a decade.

I was my Nana's kindergarten intern in Cincinnati, Ohio when I was 14 years old. I was in charge of the science center, which meant I brought in chameleons and hermit crabs to explain how their bodies worked for kids who had never seen a beach or the ocean with my best friend, NaTasha, who was in charge of the math center.
