About
I'm a 20 year old UC Berkeley Masters Graduate in Fintech, with an undergraduate completed from UBC in Computer Science and Mathematics.
I have 5 years of Tutoring experience in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, and Computer Science, and 3 years of Calculus and Computer Science Teaching Assistant experience. My positivity and deep understanding of the material help students to learn the fundamentals of whatever they want to learn.
When I was young, I learned abacus, which accelerates basic arithmetic skills. In elementary school, I was doing math olympiad questions, which completely changed the way I looked at math, and taught me to look for various different methods of solving the same problem. Then, in high school, I took and did well in many math contests such as the AMC and Waterloo contests (Cayley, Fermat, Euclid).
I love to game. Because games are fun! Integrating the fun from games into learning is the key to success. I work with teaching examples with objects you are more familiar with makes the learning much more enjoyable.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The beginning of any lesson will be to getting to know you! You are the most important topic of them all! What areas you are strong in and what areas you are struggling in. I plan to have a short diagnostic section to really narrow down the specifics of what you are struggling with.
After we pinpoint some topics, we will dive deep into them, exploring not just the surface level, but the sophisticated explanations and proofs behind the formulas you were once taught to just memorize.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a combined honours in Mathematics and Computer Science, and was a teaching assistant for three years. This experience gives me confidence in my ability to work with students. Furthermore, I wrote many math contests, such as the AMC. These olympiad type questions changed my way of thinking for math problems, such that I can come up with multiple ways (including the most efficient way) of solving a problem.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard lesson cost is $40/hour, but price varies and can be negotiable. I care the most about getting you the knowledge that you need.
How did you get started teaching?
There were so many people around me that failed to understand basic concepts in math, or answered questions incorrectly because they were forcing a formula onto the problem. Without understanding the reasoning behind the formula, a small variation in the question will throw many students off. This is what I strive to teach.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone that can help you understand why something works the way it does. When you can explain why, then explaining what (the answer) becomes very simple.
