About
While completing my Math for Education degree at SFSU, I began tutoring precalculus and calculus students privately while taking classes aimed at developing middle and high school math teachers. Once I started my Master's in Math at SFSU, I began to teach various Precalculus and Statistics classes as the instructor of record and became an instructor at San Francisco Math Circle. I worked with SFMC to facilitate recreational math activities aimed at developing math confidence, language, and problem-solving skills for students in 2nd-8th grade. I was promoted to Lead Instructor where I would develop activities, organize classes, and provide training for Assistant Instructors. I currently tutor at a private company, where I began tutoring math subjects ranging from AP Calculus AB, BC, and Statistics to elementary common core.
I believe that math is an unnecessarily scary subject, since there is generally only one right answer it is easy to become discouraged. My goal with every student is to develop the problem-solving skills necessary to feel confident and capable in any math subject. I believe in the importance of understanding the logic and reasoning behind formulas through fun and engaging activities rather than memorization.
I hope to meet you soon
