About

Hello! I’m Henry, a Physics graduate from Oxford University, United Kingdom and a full time Maths, Science and English tutor. I teach students of all ages and abilities round the world and love tutoring as it takes me to places I would never normally have the opportunity to visit.

I grew up in the South of England where I spent my early childhood exploring the local fields, streams and woodlands; which fostered my adventurous spirit. I attended Eton College in 8th grade which I left in 2012 having majored in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Having taken a year out, during which I tutored extensively, I went to Oxford University in 2013 to read Physics. I took a teaching option in my second year and continued tutoring alongside my university studies. I took a year out in the middle to work abroad (sailing) and graduated in 2018.

I then moved to London to take up a role as an educational advisor and academic mentor for an educational consultancy, advising international clients on all matters of UK education. This I left in January 2020 to pursue tutoring full-time.

Outside of my calling as an educator I am an extreme sports enthusiast and adrenaline junkie. I particularly enjoy skydiving, rock climbing and scuba diving, but can be found doing most anything that fuels my passion for exploring and understanding the world around me.

Frequently asked questions

My way of tutoring is to inspire my pupils to want to learn and understand for themselves.  The best teachers I have come across at high school and college aren’t necessarily those with the best knowledge, they are those whose lessons I leave wanting to explore the subject more.  I try to instil the same feelings in my own pupils and believe my genuine enthusiasm and excitement for the subjects I teach helps achieve this.

Obviously examinations are a very important part of the modern education system. As someone who has only recently been through school and college I am able to offer practical advice on exam preparation and revision as well as what I like to term ‘playing the examiner’ – the technique of ensuring you are putting down exactly what the exam board wants in its most concise, clear and rapid form.  I am able to offer extra cramming sessions around exam season.
