Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Single Session: Brief intro, a quick game, and then we would jump into the project. If you only have an hour to complete the assignment we can do that together! I can help you get passed blocks to writing, creative or otherwise.
Multiple Sessions: Getting to know you, getting to know what your your interests are with writing and reading. Which stories do you remember from childhood and why you remember them. Then we'd move into things you would like to work on in your writing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A. in Drama with Honors from SFSU. I took an advanced writing class my freshman year and got an A. I was also an Elementary School Teacher for the 2019-2020 School Year. I also took and passed the AP ENGLISH class and Exams in High School.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes! $20 single session.
How did you get started teaching?
I started by directing children's shows! In my first summer after undergrad, I worked at a camp for teens with Autism as their Theatre Teacher. I loved it so much I started to Nanny and teach Drama after school during the year. Then I wanted a full time position, and taught at Rocktship Rising Stars Academy for the 2019-2020 school year.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds! From elementary to high school, I have taught all kinds of students. Autism spectrum, ADD, OCD, etc. I have worked with college aged students while in college and at work, and am very comfortable helping out adults as well!
