About
As a recent graduate from UC San Diego with a major in Linguistics and a minor in History (receiving Provost Honors for the past 2 academic years), I have taken dozens of writing courses in multiple disciplines.
I am here to teach you writing tips: the foolproof way on structuring an essay, how to organize your essays, how to write essays in a limited time period (SAT/AP testing environment), and much more!
Additionally, as a Linguistics major, I have lots of experience working with individuals who are learning English (ELL/ESL). I want to be a resource to these individuals and give them confidence with their English skills, whether that be through conversation practice, grammar/reading comprehension practice, or proofreading.
I have experience tuutoring students from ages 5-30 and can help you with almost any subject.
I want to help students develop confidence and give them the proper resources to do their work with or without my assistance.
In general though, I love learning from others and making connections with them. I learn so much from my students and it's my favorite part of the job!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It really depends on what the student needs. I like to establish a baseline on what the student is expecting to get out of our sessions and go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recently received my BA in Linguistics with a minor in History from the University of California, San Diego. There, I took many courses pertaining to education and language acqusition. I am sensitive and patient to non-native English speakers and I want to be a resource to help you develop confidence in your English! Additionally, in my History classes, I wrote dozens (and I mean DOZENS) of essays that I got good grades on! I want to teach you the skills to get good grades on your writing too!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $25 an hour, but am flexible depending on your needs! We can also work out a free 30 minute trial session if needed.
How did you get started teaching?
I come from a family of educators, my mom is a teacher and so are multiple aunts and uncles. Education runs in the family! I started tutoring in highschool and by my senior year, I had around 5 students that I was visiting weekly. Teaching is my passion and it has been for a long time!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, from Kindergarten all the way to Community College.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Get to know them! Make sure you guys connect! I think that ensuring that the teacher's approach is compatible with the student's learning style is very crucial.
