About
Two years in the Mathematics Tutoring business for Middle & High School students. A career in commercial accounting and a part time tutoring skill and passion. Currently a student of Applied Mathematics at the American Military University. Tutoring Math has been and will always be more than a skill to me, it is a passion. My goal is to always find the root cause of the student's weakness, solve it and build the right scientific blocks and facts around it.

How did you get started teaching?
Throughout my Middle, High school & college years, I had taught many classmates, friends and family members students both Math & Physics around the kitchen/dinner table. I did it back then for fun because I loved doing it, and because I was good at it & at conveying the message to my fellow classmates. After college, and during my career, I kept tutoring some close friends and family members students for the inner satisfaction I have always received seeing the students whom I had taught do better, progress, succeed, and excel.
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle school students, High School students, Students taking Pre-calculus tests & Standardized Tests, as well as students in first and second year of college.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In the year 2020, the Covid lockdown brought up the best in me. Teaching & tutoring had always been my overlooked passion! I used the newly available online platforms to tutor for both monetary and non-monetary rewards. And I started developing my own techniques for teaching, I started tutoring online in small groups or one on one, and I wanted for the idea of "Less memorization, more chaining" to grow and reach more Math struggling students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be ready to invest time & effort. The Average "after-school" study time (not class time) is 4 to 5 hours per week in the United States. This average might guarantee a student to graduate High School. But according to most western statistics this average will not guarantee landing the student in the college or faculty of their choice. At High School level, a good "4 hours" of Math study time per week is needed to achieve higher goals. The 4 hours could be broken into 4 or 2 parts according to statistics. I break them into 2 parts or 2 sessions a week. Each session consisting of 2 hours (75 minutes for the course & 45 minutes for the homework)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Before a student approaches any Math tutor with the subject they are struggling with, they must first think through their knowledge of basic Math blocks. "Do I really know my proportions, my ratios, my percentages, my distance formula, my equivalents fractions, my triangles' laws? or do I need my basic Math skills to be refreshed?"
If the basic Math skills need to be refreshed, they shall be incorporated and integrated within the tutoring session as Math Blocks refreshers.
