About
I have five years of teaching experience in primary grades in Sacramento County School District. One of my teaching passions is helping students learn how to read and write. I truly believe that if one can read and think critically, that they will be able to overcome all tough educational situations-- including those with numbers and science.
One of my greatest joys is helping a child reach independence and think with confidence. Guiding them to that "aha moment" is why I'm a teacher and love seeing kids takeoff and grow as people and as learners.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe that building a relationship with my students is the most important first step. Children need to feel connected to their tutors/teachers and feel safe around them, especially since they will be vulnerable while learning new material. After that, I always give placement tests to see where I need to work with your child.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of students. My teaching experience is with students in grades 1-3, but have mentored and tutored older children as well.
At my school site, my students are 85% English Langugae Learners who need a lot of support in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
